About Steven Anthony Author of Art of Keto

Steven Anthony is a well-known nutrition and health coach. He's coached hundreds of individuals in using a ketogenic diet and has competed in bodybuilding and physique competitions using a ketogenic diet. His articles and Instagram infographics have been viewed and shared tens of thousands of times.


I've been there… I've tried every trick, supplement, and workout you could imagine.

Growing up as a very overweight child well into my teens, weight, and body image has always been an issue for me. Combine that with being told as a teenager, I would die of a heart attack in my 20's if I kept up my lifestyle, and my dad simultaneously being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes…

I knew something had to change.

I first discovered and utilized a ketogenic diet in 2003 while serving in the U.S. Military, and have since then tried and tinkered with my training and nutrition to support my goals, as well as help others along the way.

It may be the one diet that allows me and others to consistently lose weight while enjoying delicious foods (that suit my taste), stay satiated, and also remain productive… because we all know how diets can make us tired and cranky.

This passion for science and nutrition led me to pursue a degree in nutrition and also become a certified health coach so I can help serve others with accurate information.

Let's get one thing straight; I'm not a guru by any means. 

I am, and will forever always be a student open to discussion, open to alternative views, and questions everything.

If anyone tells you there's only ONE way to do something, especially keto… I suggest you turn the other way.

Hopefully, the information I present will allow you to see things in a different light. It's not what you know, but rather how you think that will be your greatest asset.

Having the ability to think critically will free you from the confusion when someone or something else comes and challenges your current beliefs.

In the end, you have to find a way to make your diet sustainable and enjoyable for you.

Currently, as of writing this, I live in a small town just outside of Portland, Oregon, with my awesome girlfriend Shelley and my two fur babies Buddy and Bella.

When I'm not writing content for The Art of Keto, you can either find me traveling somewhere in the world, looking for new coffee shops or at the local gym. If weather permits, you'll find me out on the hiking trails or participating in some athletic endeavor that requires me to push myself both physically and mentally.
